According to two job postings online, Spotify is looking for Web3-centric people to join their team.
The very first position available is for a Senior Backend Engineer who will “enable cooperation with product, insights, and design to find the next growth opportunity leveraging emerging technologies, such as Web3.”
Spotify is also looking for a Senior Manager to join its Innovation and Market Intelligence team.
The ideal candidate will have “in-depth knowledge of new trends,”, particularly in Web3 and “developing technological industries.”
However, it’s still unclear what Spotify’s plans are for specific crypto-related items or whether it would integrate NFTs into the platform.
Spotify joins a long line of mainstream internet titans on the Web3 bandwagon by making a place for crypto technology.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, announced earlier this month that NFTs will be coming to Instagram. Users will “ideally” be able to mint NFTs within Instagram in the coming months, according to Zuckerberg, who did not give a precise timetable.
Meta isn’t the only well-known brand that has embraced NFTs. Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and even Charmin are among the companies that have rushed to launch NFTs.
Various partnerships between the game industry and Web3 technologies, including the use of NFTs, have also sprung up.
