Snoop Dogg has disclosed that he is behind the whale NFT account holding millions worth of the digital asset.
This year has seen many new celebrity entrants into the non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles field. From pop stars like Jason Derulo to sports stars like Steph Curry, everyone has made inroads into the industry.
Rappers aren’t left out either, with Jay Z, Eminem, Lil Pump, and Ja Rule all purchasing NFTs. The biggest surprise, however, came on Monday, when Snoop Dogg disclosed that he is the man behind the pseudonymous Twitter account, Cozomo de’ Medici, an NFT whale with millions of dollars in assets in the nascent crypto sub-sector.
The iconic rapper confirmed this in a series of tweets on Monday. Cozomo de’ Medici joined Twitter and OpenSea in August, with his wallet on the marketplace holding up to $17 million in NFTs.
At the time of writing, there are roughly 207 NFTs in the wallet, which includes NFTs such as CryptoPunks, Snoop Dogg cash, and Cosmoflowers.
Cozomo has been buying NFTs on a regular basis since the account was opened. The Cozomo de’ Medici account on Twitter has over 40k followers and primarily talks about the NFT space.
Aside from discussing NFTs and collecting, it appears that Cozomo also assists other celebrities in acquiring NFT.
When Jason Derulo became a member of the NFT Gang, he thanked Cozomo de’ Medici in a tweet for introducing him to the world of NFTs. Many people have wondered who is behind the account, but no one expected it to be Snoop Dogg until he disclosed it himself.
