Rapper Post Malone Spent Nearly $1 Million On Two NFTs

Post Malone has become the latest celebrity to join the NFT frenzy, spending nearly $1 million on two non-fungible tokens from one of the most sought-after digital collections.
The “Sunflower” singer-songwriter has joined the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club, having purchased apes #961 and #9039 for a total of 160 ETH. Because 1 Ether is currently worth $4,689.03, Posty spent a total of $734,401.60 on his two Bored Apes.


Post was spotted buying NFTs on OpenSea, a prominent marketplace for NFT sales, according to the TikTok account @moonpayhq. “This is going to be a hit with my buddies; they’re going to go crazy.” While the 6-figure purchase was being handled, Post could be heard adding, “They adore the cryptos, NFTs.”

Post Malone became the delighted new owner of two Bored Apes after his payments were completed. They make a good-looking couple, with one of the digital primates having a full grill of glittering teeth and rainbow suspenders, while the other appears to have been injured.

The rapper did notice one thing in common between his apes: they’re both wearing cowboy hats, something Post Malone has been known to do on occasion.

Celebrities are also flaunting their digital collections as a status symbol as NFTs grow more prevalent. The Bored Ape Yacht Club has been considered the pinnacle of NFT collecting, with artefacts from the collection fetching millions of dollars on the secondary market.

Stars such as Steph Curry, Lil Baby, Jimmy Fallon, Snoop Dogg, and Jermaine Dupri have recently paid high bucks to have the unique NFTs as their social media avatar.

According to the website of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, a roadmap has been established that will allow ape owners to participate in special community activities and opportunities.

“BAYC is a set of 10,000 Bored Ape NFTs, which are one-of-a-kind digital collectibles that live on the Ethereum blockchain. “Your Bored Ape doubles as your Yacht Club membership card, granting you access to members-only advantages, the first of which is admission to THE BATHROOM, a collaborative graffiti board,” says the site’s description.

“Future regions and privileges can be unlocked by the community through roadmap activation,” the statement reads.
