The influencer, who boasts over 650,000 followers on Instagram, called the transaction “empowering” for women because “we can love without compromising our freedom and individuality.”
“Digital love is transactional, but so is marrying a man just because he is wealthy and stable, right?” she explained.
A non-fungible token, or NFT, has been sold for $250,000 or one million zlotys, according to an Insider report, and it offers the buyer “love” from a Polish Instagram influencer. This was the first time a “love” or “human emotion” NFT was sold. It would normally be a work of digital art, which qualifies an NFT for use as a trading token.
She was inspired to start selling her “love” after Italian artist Salvatore Garau sold an invisible sculpture titled “Io sono” (meaning “I am”) for $18,300 in May
“Yesterday I sold my first NFT for a fantastic price – I won’t tell you how much, because I don’t believe it myself,” Rentel wrote on Instagram, referring to the expensive sale.
“If I manage to successfully mint my Digital Love and find my second half, then why shouldn’t other feelings and emotions just follow?” Rental writes on her website, claiming that she sees nothing perverted about her “digital love” sale.
She goes on to say that she’s looking for “anyone who’s crazy enough to travel with me to this infinite galaxy of digital emotions.”
She claimed the unidentified buyer is just as likely to be “a woman or child who is very rich” as they are a wealthy businessman.
