President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador wants to grant citizenship to individuals who invest in the small Central American country. Remember that El Salvador was the first country to embrace bitcoin as a legally recognised currency in September, and the country appears to want to keep reforming to attract foreign money. President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador announced in a tweet on Sunday that he aims to implement a range of reforms, including granting citizenship to foreign investors.
Bukele proposed, among other things, cutting red tape, lowering bureaucracy, introducing tax incentives, and offering citizenship to foreigners who invest in the country. Another step toward the populist leader’s goal of luring non-traditional money to help the country’s economy.
