The Cardano app on Ledger has received a new update that includes smart contract capabilities. The Cardano (ADA) app has been updated to accommodate the latest features of the Cardano ecosystem, according to Ledger, a popular cryptocurrency hardware vendor.
The Cardano app has been updated to v.4.0.0, which includes smart contract capability.
“Attention #Cardano #ADA users! v.4.0.0 of the Cardano app is now available for download in Ledger Live. The app is compatible with smart contracts. Cardano DeFi + Ledger = Onwards!” Ledger tweeted recently.
On its support page, Ledger stated that it chose to upgrade the Cardano app to version 4.0.0 in order to incorporate new blockchain functionality.
Despite the fact that the update was released on September 12, 2021, the Ledger Cardano app still lacks smart contract capabilities.
Ledger has to update the ADA app to incorporate the newest Cardano functionality in order to provide its users with the necessary exposure to the latest Cardano feature.
Users may now sign smart contracts directly from the Cardano app, among other things, according to Ledger.
Users must first upgrade their Ledger wallet firmware and install the Ledger Live App on their device before they may update their Ledger Cardano app to the most recent version.
Users will be provided access to Cardano’s decentralised applications via YoROI and AdaLite once they have finished the Cardano app update.
