As you may be aware, you can already purchase AMC gift cards using cryptocurrency, and our IT team is working on code that will allow us to accept online payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Dogecoin, among others, in the near future. Should we try to include Shiba Inu as well?”
Out of the 135,664 votes, an overwhelming 86.5% said that AMC should accept SHIB.
Aron conducted a similar Twitter poll in September, asking followers if the movie studio should take DOGE payments. Almost 77 percent of those polled replied yes, and the CEO responded weeks later with an announcement that customers would soon be able to purchase gift cards using cryptocurrencies, including DOGE, and use them at AMC theatres.
AMC previously stated that by the end of 2021, they will begin taking crypto assets such as Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
SHIB just surpassed Dogecoin as the ninth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, following a week in which the token reached a new all-time high.
