After Bitcoin, Dogecoin Is The Most Discussed Cryptocurrency On Social Media

When it comes to meme cryptocurrencies, social media interaction around the coins are important. We take a look at the meme coin with the highest market value in the cryptocurrency world – Dogecoin.

The most recent social media data for the most popular meme coin has recently come to light. DOGE appears to have recently declined in popularity when compared to Shiba Inu (SHIB). However, it appears like DOGE is preparing to regain its former popularity.

The number of followers on the official Dogecoin Twitter account has now topped three million. With 4.5 million followers, it is the cryptocurrency with the most followers after Bitcoin. Shiba Inu, often known as the Dogecoin killer, is a close second with 2.7 million followers.

In just one year, the Dogecoin Twitter account has grown by 681 percent. Furthermore, the popular meme currency enjoyed a similar victory on Reddit. On the platform, Dogecoin has 2.3 million subscribers.

DOGE was the most talked-about cryptocurrency on Reddit in 2021, according to our analysis. Furthermore, it should not be overlooked that Dogecoin is undergoing Elon Musk-driven price rises, which began in 2021. Especially after it was announced that Tesla would accept DOGE as payment for select Tesla-branded merchandise. Dogecoin achieved one million followers in April 2021 as a result of these rallies.

However, it hasn’t been all roses in 2021. Dogecoin’s meteoric rise came to a halt in early May, when the parody coin’s value plummeted. Nonetheless, in 2021, the most popular meme currency surpassed the great majority of other cryptocurrencies. While Dogecoin was 79.80 percent of its peak at the time of writing, things are looking up. Despite the price decline, meme coin is still the 11th largest cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization.

Billy Markus, the co-founder of Dogecoin and Twitter user known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, has also hit one million followers. Markus is now one of the most popular cryptocurrency entrepreneurs.

Jackson Palmer, an Australian programmer who co-created the meme coin with Markus, has a modest 41,600 followers. At this point, it is worth highlighting Palmer and Markus’s opposing perspectives on cryptocurrency markets. While Markus has had numerous interactions with Elon Musk, Palmer is a sharp critic of the bitcoin business.
